Nike Air Vortex

Just trawling through some goodness, looking for the next pair of trainers I’ll need to get delivered to work and then sneak past the Mrs… “Oh these, I’ve had them for ages”… and what have I spotted? This fantastic red and white colourway of the classic Nike Air Vortex.

Debuting in 1985 as part of the V-Series alongside the Nike Air Vector and Nike Air Vengeance, the Vortex was once at the pinnacle of technical running trainers. Featuring a suede and nylon upper, the Vortex are nice, comfortable lightweight shoe, perfect for what’s left of the summer.

Now to find somewhere to hide them.

Patagonia Fitz Roy

It’s not often I see something and immediately go “wow!”. Well when I first clapped eyes on the Patagonia Fitz Roy Down parka I did just that and my mind got to scheming and how I could justify buying this in August for the next cold snap.

In a classic “viking blue” colour this immediately reminded me of the Rab expedition jackets that were popular in the mid 90’s.

The Patagonia Fitz Roy down parka is a beast of a jacket; made from a hardwearing Pertex Quantum® shell and filled with 800-fill-power traceable down, this isn’t just seriously hard wearing and warm, it’s also light. Which of course, will be one of your main concerns when you throw this on to head down to your local pub.
